Materials You'll Need
Ingredients:
- White School Glue (1 cup)The foundation of your slime - provides the stretchy base
- Shaving Cream (2-3 cups)The secret ingredient that makes your slime super fluffy
- Contact Solution (1-2 tbsp)Contains boric acid which activates the slime
- Baking Soda (1/2 tsp)Helps stabilize the slime and improve texture
- Food Coloring (optional)Add a few drops for vibrant colored slime
Step-by-Step Instructions
- 1
Prepare Your Base
Pour 1 cup of white school glue into a large mixing bowl. If you want colored fluffy slime, add a few drops of food coloring now and mix well.
- 2
Add Baking Soda
Add 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda to the glue and stir until completely dissolved. This helps stabilize your slime.
- 3
Add Shaving Cream
Add 2-3 cups of shaving cream to the mixture. The more you add, the fluffier your slime will be! Gently fold it in to maintain the air bubbles.
- 4
Activate Your Slime
Slowly add 1-2 tablespoons of contact solution while stirring. Add it gradually and mix between additions until the slime begins to form and pull away from the sides of the bowl.
- 5
Knead Your Slime
Once the slime has formed, take it out and knead with your hands for 3-5 minutes until it's no longer sticky. If it remains sticky, add a few more drops of contact solution.
- 6
Store Properly
Store your fluffy slime in an airtight container. Note that fluffy slime will gradually deflate over time (usually within 1-3 days) as the air bubbles escape.
Pro Tips
For extra fluffy slime, use fresh shaving cream and fold it in gently to preserve the air bubbles
If your slime is too sticky, add more activator (contact solution) a few drops at a time
If your slime is too stiff, knead in a small amount of lotion to soften it
Fluffy slime will naturally deflate over time - this is normal! Just enjoy the fluffy texture while it lasts
For a fun twist, add some fine glitter or small foam beads for extra texture and visual appeal
Troubleshooting
Slime is too sticky
Add more contact solution a few drops at a time and knead well between additions
Slime is too stiff
Add a small amount of lotion or glycerin and knead to incorporate
Slime deflated quickly
This is normal for fluffy slime. To temporarily restore some fluffiness, you can knead in a small amount of fresh shaving cream
Slime isn't forming properly
Check that your contact solution contains boric acid or sodium borate as an ingredient, as this is what activates the slime
